I’ve been trying to figure out the same for a long time now.. and what it has driven me to is travel. The more places and bizarre circumstances I come across the more I find reflections of pieces of myself in others. I push myself to the limits mentally, and physically through my work, doing Wilderness and trail work for the past three years, and through my travels by traveling solo, in groups, and with family members, within the US and abroad. I stretch my own boundaries on purpose to see where those soft places lay, and truly believe in the philosophy of “strong back, soft front, wild heart”. I believe that the foundation of humanity is in connecting with others, and realizing that people are people no matter the circumstances, culture, or language barriers. We all love, and we all have lost, and to some extent we all need to get lost sometimes. We all want to be understood and seek connection, exploration and new knowledge. Learning is one of the best things we can continuously do for ourselves. I howl at the moon and dance under the stars. I love the sea, the mountains, the desert, and the rush of cities every once in awhile. I want to drink life in, every single drop. I have been on countless five-ten day backpacking trips, been to Central America alone on numerous occasions, and have had to change more flat tires than I’d like to admit, in the US and elsewhere. I have been certified in Wilderness First Aid, I love to mountain bike, SCUBA dive, kayak, hike endlessly, smell the wildflowers, paint, write, and do yoga. I have been known on occasion to be extremely clumsy, but I am stubborn and will try anything anyway. I like to get to know people and their situations, so be honest with me and I will do my best to help, educate and guide you. I will also be honest with you, always.
